Add conditional logic to a form

Show or hide questions, jump between pages, choose an ending and calculate scores or prices from the answers people give.

Updated 3 November 2026

Conditional logic makes a form react to the person filling it in. Conditions are built from real answers, so you never write code: pick a question, a comparison and a value, then decide what happens.

What logic can do

  • Show or hide questions and content blocks.
  • Jump to another question or page, skipping what does not apply.
  • Make a question required only in some cases.
  • Choose which ending screen a respondent sees.
  • Calculate scores, totals and prices as people answer, using variables.

Add a rule

  1. Open the Logic panel in the editor.
  2. Choose the question whose answer drives the rule, for example "Are you a customer?".
  3. Set the condition, for example "is" and "Yes".
  4. Pick the action: show a block, jump to a page, set a variable or select an ending.
  5. Preview the form and try both branches.

Rules run in order. When several rules affect the same question the last matching one wins, so keep the list short and name variables clearly.

Scores and prices

Variables hold numbers or text that rules change as people answer. A quiz adds points for correct answers and shows the total on the end screen; an order form multiplies a quantity by a price variable so the payment question charges the right amount. Hidden fields can seed variables from the URL, for example a campaign name or a referrer.

Quick answers

Frequently asked questions

Can I test logic without publishing?

Yes. Preview runs the full logic. Test submissions from the editor are never counted as responses.

Is conditional logic available on the Free plan?

Logic is part of the editor on every plan. Check the pricing page for the limits that differ between plans, such as responses per month.
