Collect payments with Stripe

Connect your Stripe account, add a payment question and charge a fixed price or one calculated from the answers.

Updated 3 November 2026

A payment question lets respondents pay without leaving the form. The charge appears in Stripe with the response id in its metadata, and every response records the payment status and links to the charge.

Set it up

  1. In workspace settings, open Payments and connect your Stripe account with Stripe Connect. This is done once per workspace.
  2. In the form, add the Payment field and set a fixed price or a price variable.
  3. Test with Stripe's test cards, then switch the connection to live and publish.

Prices from answers

Use a price variable when the total depends on what people choose: a quantity, an option with a surcharge, a donation amount. Logic updates the variable as they answer and the payment question shows the final total before anyone pays.

Payment methods and currency

Cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay and the local methods enabled on your Stripe account appear automatically. The payment field charges in the currency of your Stripe account.

Quick answers

Frequently asked questions

Payments are declined

The decline reason from Stripe is shown to the respondent and logged on the response. Most declines are card issues, not configuration.

Can I charge in a different currency?

The payment field uses the currency of your Stripe account. Multi-currency needs a second Stripe account today.

What are the fees?

Stripe's standard processing fees apply. Onlyform adds no transaction fee on paid plans.
