My form is not receiving responses

The checks to run when a form looks live but nothing arrives: publish state, access controls, limits, filters and integrations.

Updated 3 November 2026

When a form seems to be ignored, the cause is usually one of a few settings. Work through this list in order.

1. Is the latest version published?

Edits only go live when you publish again. Open the public link in a private browser window and check that it shows the form you expect. If the link shows a closed message, see the next point.

2. Has the form closed?

A closing date or a response limit stops the form from accepting answers and shows the closed message. Both are in the form settings under access and limits.

3. Can people get past the entry controls?

Password protection, email verification codes and CAPTCHA all sit before the first question. If codes are not arriving, ask respondents to check their spam folder and confirm the address they typed; codes expire after a few minutes.

4. Are you looking at the right view?

The Responses table applies the date range and filters you last set, and search narrows it further. Clear them. Test submissions from the editor never appear as responses.

5. Did the response arrive but not where you expected?

Integrations deliver after the response is stored. If a row is missing in Google Sheets or a webhook did not fire, the response is still in Onlyform: open the delivery log on the form to see each attempt and its result. Deliveries retry for 24 hours.

Still stuck?

Email support@onlyform.com with the form link and, if you have one, a response id or the time of the attempt, and we will trace it.

Quick answers

Frequently asked questions

Respondents see a message that the form is closed

A closing date passed or the response limit was reached. Change or remove it in the form settings and publish again.

Submissions fail at the last step

Check that every required question can be answered on the path the respondent takes; a required question hidden by logic can block the submit. Preview the branch and fix the rule or the required state.
